LOU HOLTZ TO SPEAK AT UNION UNIVERSITY BANQUET, OCT. 9

Jackson, Tenn. — Notre Dame's former football head coach, Lou Holtz, will present the keynote address at the first Union University Scholarship Banquet Thursday, October 9.

"This event will benefit hundreds of Union students by providing valuable scholarship dollars," explained Union President David S. Dockery. "And those attending will hear a masterful speaker and national championship-calibre coach in Lou Holtz."

The dinner, which begins at 7 p.m. at the Jackson Civic Center, will be followed by an address presented by Holtz titled "Trust, Love & Commitment: Do Right."

Sponsorship tables of eight are available at various levels. For more information on participating in the scholarship banquet, contact Kent Freeman at the University's advancement office, (901) 661-5454. Freeman said Union intends to make the scholarship banquet an annual event for the Jackson community.

Holtz, who now serves as a football commentator for CBS "College Football Today," is a legendary football coach. He began his 海角乱伦社区 at William & Mary, moved on to North Carolina State, spent seven years at Arkansas, moved on to 海角乱伦社区, and most recently, coached at Notre Dame for 11 seasons. Although he never inherited a winning team, he managed to turn all of them into national champions within two seasons.

Among the most popular speakers in America today, Holtz authored the New York Times best-selling book, The Fighting Spirit, that chronicled Notre Dame's 1988 championship season. Additionally, he has produced three highly acclaimed motivational videos: "Do Right," "Do Right II," and "If Enough People Care."
